You can’t tell someone’s HIV status just by looking at him. And its not the easiest topic to bring up, especially when you’re on the pull. But, if you talk about it, you can make an informed decision about the kind of sex you want. If you don’t ask, using condoms and lube every time is the safest option.
For those of you here in Vegas interested in attending our next Vegas Mpowerment Project meeting at the Las Vegas LGBT center, it’s going to be a great one! We’re having a scary movie night Monday, October 31st, starting at 7 PM! Movies, popcorn, pizza, drinks, friends, and fun! What more could you want? If you have any questions at all regarding the meeting, or anything in general, don’t hesitate to hit up the ask box! Every serious question gets answered, and the anonymous option is on, so if you don’t feel comfortable asking a tough question, don’t hesitate to use it!

Pitch Black, our Halloween event, was a huge success! With nearly a hundred attendees, over twenty of them getting tested, the party was jam packed and full of fun! With free food, drinks, drag performances, and if course testing, you can bet it was the biggest event for the end of the year.
Now we’re in the process of planning our first event for next year, and we want your voice to be heard! What kind of event would you like to see? Be it a Valentine’s dance with some steamy speed dating, or a heated luau to get your summer started early, we want to know what you want to see!

Vegas Mpowerment Project is throwing its Halloween Dance “Pitch Black” hosted by Diva Toxxx featuring DJ Ms. Kitty Litter. A fusion of neon lights, Halloween freights, and erotic bites. There will be various costume contests, food, dancing, entertainment by hostess Diva Toxxx, HIV Testing and much more! This event will go from 7-11pm and will be TOTALLY FREE at The Center, serving the LGBTQ Community of Nevada which is located at 953 E. Sahara Ave. #B-31 (inside Commercial Center between The Famous Green Door & Hawks Gym). The event is for young gay, bisexual and transgender men between the ages of 18-29 and of course your friends are always welcome but must be 18. Don’t forget to dress up and enter in the various costume contests. Costumes are not mandatory but having fun is!!! Bring your friends and don’t miss out on this awesome event.

Vegas Mpowerment Project is planning their annual Halloween Dance called Pitch Black on Saturday, October 22nd from 7-11pm. There’s going to be major black lighting so make sure to wear something fierce!!! The event is totally FREE!!! Ms. Kitty Litter is going to be the Dee Jay while Diva Toxx is going to be the hostess.
On Friday, September 16, 2011 the Southern Nevada Health District will be offering FREE HIV and Syphilis testing at Hawks Gym from 10pm-2am.
All testing is confidential and FREE of charge. Meet some of the Vegas Mpowerment Project guys as they pass out various educational pamphlets during the evening. Come by and have some fun and get tested.
